Sri Bintan Pura Port, Tanjung Pinang

Sri Bintan Pura port sits on the waterfront of central Tanjung Pinang, on Bintan's south-west coast. It handles both domestic and international traffic and gets busy early in the morning. Domestic and international departure areas are separate, and passengers heading abroad clear immigration and customs.

International routes

• Singapore (Tanah Merah): served by Sindo Ferry and Majestic Fast Ferry, each with about two sailings a day. The crossing takes roughly 1 hour 45 minutes to 2 hours.
• Johor Bahru, Malaysia (Stulang Laut): usually around two departures daily, with a journey of about three hours.

Domestic routes

• Batam (Telaga Punggur): fast boats roughly every 30 minutes from morning to late afternoon, taking about an hour. This is the usual option for travellers arriving via Hang Nadim Airport.
• Tanjung Balai Karimun, Selat Panjang and on to Dumai on mainland Riau.
• The Lingga islands (Dabo Singkep, Daik) and smaller islands such as Benan.
• Moro, Tanjung Batu and other coastal destinations in Riau.

Services to remote islands often run only once a day, so confirm times at the ticket counter or with the operator.

Pompong to Penyengat

A short walk away is the jetty for pompongs, motorised wooden boats that cross to historic Penyengat Island, home of the Grand Mosque of the Riau Sultanate. The trip takes only about 10 to 15 minutes. Boats leave once enough passengers have boarded, typically around 15.
