Bandar Bentan Telani Ferry Terminal (BBT), Lagoi

Bandar Bentan Telani, usually shortened to BBT, lies on Bintan's north-west coast at the entrance to the Bintan Resorts area in Lagoi. Purpose-built for international holidaymakers, it feels calmer and more orderly than the town harbours. Immigration and customs checks are carried out on site.

Route and operator

• The only scheduled route is Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal (Singapore) – BBT.
• Services are run by Bintan Resort Ferries (BRF).
• The crossing takes about 1 hour 10 minutes.
• There are usually around four to five departures per day in each direction, with extra sailings added at busy times.

Note that Bintan time is one hour behind Singapore time. BRF asks passengers to check in well ahead of departure, so allow a generous buffer if you are connecting to a flight at Changi.

Immigration and documents

The terminal has immigration counters, a visa-on-arrival desk and currency exchange. Citizens of several ASEAN countries, including Singapore and Malaysia, enter visa-free, while many other nationalities need a visa on arrival or e-VoA. Passports should generally be valid for at least six months. The operator also states that the All Indonesia e-Arrival Card has been mandatory since October 2025. Rules can change, so always check the official Indonesian immigration website before travelling.

Transfers to resorts

• Most Lagoi resorts run shuttles from the terminal, often only when booked in advance.
• Taxis wait at the arrival hall.
• Ride-hailing cars operate within the Bintan Resorts area.
• For the east coast or Tanjung Pinang, book a private transfer or rental car; the drive to Tanjung Pinang takes around an hour.
