Tanjung Uban Port: Speedboats and Car Ferries to Batam

Tanjung Uban is a small port town at the north-western tip of Bintan, directly facing Batam. For locals it is the most practical everyday crossing, and for visitors it is a handy alternative route to Lagoi. Two kinds of service leave from separate jetties.

Speedboats to Telaga Punggur

Passenger speedboats run from Bulang Linggi port in Tanjung Uban to Telaga Punggur on Batam. The crossing takes only about 15 minutes. Boats operate from morning until around 6 pm, roughly hourly or as demand requires. Charter boats are also available for groups.

Ro-ro car ferries

The ro-ro port is run by ASDP Indonesia Ferry and carries cars, motorbikes and foot passengers to Telaga Punggur. In 2026 there were around 11 departures per direction each day, roughly every 75 minutes from morning to evening, with a crossing of about one hour. Tickets must be bought online through the Ferizy app or website, and passengers are asked to arrive well before departure. The route is very busy: more than 300,000 passengers used the port in the first five months of 2026. A new berth is under construction and due for completion at the end of 2026.

Onward to Lagoi

• Lagoi is about 30 to 45 minutes away by car.
• Tanjung Pinang is further, around 1 to 1.5 hours.
• Public transport is limited, so arrange a hotel pick-up, taxi or ride-hailing car in advance.

Tips

• This route suits travellers landing at Hang Nadim Airport, only about 20 to 30 minutes from Telaga Punggur.
• In rough seas speedboats may divert to more sheltered channels, making the trip a little longer.
• During holiday periods queues for the car ferry can be long; book tickets early.
