Laguna Golf Bintan: Forest, Lagoons and Coast in One Round
This 18-hole Greg Norman design sits beside the Banyan Tree, Angsana and Cassia resorts in Lagoi. Reworked in 2016, it offers varied terrain and a striking par-3 over a rocky shoreline.
Laguna Golf Bintan lies within the Laguna Bintan enclave near Lagoi on the north coast, right beside the Banyan Tree Bintan, Angsana Bintan and Cassia Bintan resorts. The 18-hole, par-72 course was originally designed by Greg Norman and opened in the late 1990s. In 2016 Laguna Golf carried out a thorough redesign and reopened the course that November with wider fairways, reworked green complexes and repositioned bunkers.
Course character
Spread over roughly 60 hectares, the layout runs in two nine-hole loops across remarkably varied ground: forest, natural wetlands, beachfront coconut groves and a former quarry. The front nine is the flatter half, opening with sea views before wrapping around lagoons. The back nine is more undulating and heads into jungle marked by rocky outcrops.
The standout hole is the par-3 17th. Its tee sits above the sea, and the shot has to carry the rocky shoreline to a green enclosed by trees, with the South China Sea itself as the main hazard.

Who it suits
The course is a natural pick for guests staying at Banyan Tree, Angsana or Cassia who want golf without a long transfer. The wider post-renovation fairways are friendly to recreational players, while the hilly back nine still gives low handicappers something to think about. Expect a few climbs along the way.
Getting there
Take the ferry from Singapore's Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal to Bandar Bentan Telani. The course lies only a few kilometres north of the terminal, about a quarter of an hour by road. Book tee times in advance through your resort or the club.
